2-2 防衛としての贖罪 The Atonement as Defense

あなたには私が頼むことなら何でもできる。
You can do anything I ask.

奇跡（≒赦しによって単なる自我の投影を現実と錯覚していたのを取り消し、魂本来の見方で、『本当の現実を見る』ことに移行すること）を成すようにと頼んだし、奇跡は自然なものであり矯正的であり癒しであり、普遍であることなど、明らかにさせておいた。
I have asked you to perform miracles, and have made it clear that miracles are natural, corrective, healing and universal.

奇跡にできないことは何ひとつないが、疑ったり恐れたりしていたのでは成しえない。
There is nothing they cannot do, but they cannot be performed in the spirit of doubt or fear.

何かを怖がるとすれば、自分を傷つける力がそれにあると承認していることになる。
When you are afraid of anything, you are acknowledging its power to hurt you.

自分が胸の思いをよせるところには、自分の宝もあるということを思い出すように。
Remember that where your heart is, there is your treasure also.

自分で価値があると見なすものを信じるのである。
You believe in what you value.

もし恐れを抱いているなら、間違って評価しているといえる。そうなると自分の理解力では間違って評価するようになることは免れず、また思考にはすべて同じような力があると考えると、それが心の平安をみだしてしまうのは必然的である。
If you are afraid you will inevitably value wrongly, and by endowing all thoughts with equal power will inevitably destroy peace.

だから聖書では「あらゆる人知を越える神の平安」について述べている。
That is why the Bible speaks of "the peace of God which passeth understanding.

この平安はどんな種類の誤りにもまったく揺るがぬものである。
"This peace is totally incapable of being shaken by errors of any kind.

それは神にぞくさない何ものかの能力が、あなたに影響を及ぼすはずがないとして、それを否定してしまう。
It denies the ability of anything not of God to affect you.

これこそ適切な否認のしかたといえる。
This is the proper use of denial.

何かを隠そうとしてではなく、誤りを正すために否認するということ。
It is not used to hide anything, but to correct error.

誤りをすべて光へともたらしたうえで、誤りと暗闇とは同じものなのだから、自動的に誤りを正すのである。
It brings all error into the light, and since error and darkness are the same, it corrects error automatically.



真に否認することは強力な保護するための手だてといえる。
True denial is a powerful protective device.

間違っていることが自分を傷つけることができるとなど信じないでいられるし、そうすべきである。
You can and should deny any belief that error can hurt you.

こんな風に否認するのは隠す手段ではなくて訂正する手段となる。
This kind of denial is not a concealment but a correction.

あなたの正しい心はこれに依存する。
Your right mind depends on it.

まちがいを否認するのは真理のためには強い防衛となるが、真理を否認すると結果的に誤って創造し、自我を投影することになる。
Denial of error is a strong defense of truth, but denial of truth results in miscreation, the projections of the ego.

正しい心に仕えるうちに、まちがいを否認することで心を自由にし、意思の自由を確立し直すのである。
In the service of the right mind the denial of error frees the mind, and re-establishes the freedom of the will.

意思が本当に自由なら誤って創造することはありえない、ただ真理のみを認めるのであるから。
When the will is really free it cannot miscreate, because it recognizes only truth.



あなたは間違っていることを防衛できるし、同様に真理を防衛できる。
You can defend truth as well as error.

そのための手段は、目標とするものの価値をしっかり設定したあとで、もっと分かりやすくなる。
The means are easier to understand after the value of the goal is firmly established.

何の為にするのか、それが問題。
It is a question of what it is for.

だれもみな自分の宝を守るのであり、また自動的に守ろうとするだろう。
Everyone defends his treasure, and will do so automatically.

本当の問いは、何を宝として蓄え、それをどれほど大事にするかである。
The real questions are, what do you treasure, and how much do you treasure it?

いつもこうした問いをまず考慮したうえで行動に移すことをいちど習得したら、その手段をはっきりとさせるのは容易になるだろう。
Once you have learned to consider these questions and to bring them into all your actions, you will have little difficulty in clarifying the means.

そうした手段はあなたが求めさえすればいつでも応じられようにしてある。
The means are available whenever you ask.

しかも、もしこの一歩を必要以上に長引かせさえしなければ、時間を省くことができる。
You can, however, save time if you do not protract this step unduly.

正しく焦点を合わせれば、それを測り知れないほど短くできるだろう。
The correct focus will shorten it immeasurably.



贖罪（≒自我の「分離」という間違った思いこみを聖霊によって取り消すこと、それを進める聖霊の計画）こそ破壊的には使えない唯一の防衛法といえる。なぜならそれはあなたが作った手だてではないからである。
The Atonement is the only defense that cannot be used destructively because it is not a device you made.

贖罪の原理というものは贖罪が始まるずっと前から実質的にあった。
The Atonement principle was in effect long before the Atonement began.

その原理は愛そのものであり贖罪が愛そのもののなすわざであった。
The principle was love and the Atonement was an act of love.

分離以前には愛そのもののなすわざは必要ではなかった。（なぜなら）空間と時間に対する「思い込み」など存在しなかったのだから。
Acts were not necessary before the separation, because belief in space and time did not exist.

贖罪（≒自我の「分離」という間違った思いこみを聖霊によって取り消すこと、それを進める聖霊の計画）とそれを完了するのに必要な条件を計画されたのは、ただ分離以後のことである。
It was only after the separation that the Atonement and the conditions necessary for its fulfillment were planned.

つまりその分離のあと、誤って使われることのない完全で申し分のない防衛を必要としたわけだ。
とはいえその防衛が拒否されることはありえる。
Then a defense so splendid was needed that it could not be misused, although it could be refused.

しかし、拒否することがこの防衛法を攻撃するための武器に変えることはできなかった。ところがほかの防衛法にはこれが当たり前の特徴だといえる。
Refusal could not, however, turn it into a weapon of attack, which is the inherent characteristic of other defenses.

こうして贖罪（≒自我の「分離」という間違った思いこみを聖霊によって取り消すこと、それを進める聖霊の計画）が両刃の剣ではない唯一の防衛法となるわけだ。
The Atonement thus becomes the only defense that is not a two-edged sword.

贖罪はただ癒すことができるだけである。
It can only heal.



贖罪が空間と時間についての信念があるところへ造られたのは、そうした信念自体が必要だと思われることに限度をもうけたうえで、究極的には学びを完了させるためである。
The Atonement was built into the space-time belief to set a limit on the need for the belief itself, and ultimately to make learning complete.

贖罪（≒自我の「分離」という間違った思いこみを聖霊によって取り消すこと、それを進める聖霊の計画）はその最終的な教訓となる。
The Atonement is the final lesson.

学ぶこと自体は、それが行われる学びの場のように一時的なもの。
Learning itself, like the classrooms in which it occurs, is temporary.

学ぶための能力というものは、もはや変化する必要がなくなれば何の価値もない。
The ability to learn has no value when change is no longer necessary.

永遠に創造しつづけるものには、何も学ぶべきことはないのである。
The eternally creative have nothing to learn.

あなたは自分の知覚力を向上させるために学べるし、ますますよい学習者になれる。
You can learn to improve your perceptions, and can become a better and better learner.

こうしてあなたは御子としての身分にある者とより親しく一致することだろう。しかし御子としての身分そのものは完全な創造であり、完全さは度合の問題ではない。
This will bring you into closer and closer accord with the Sonship; but the Sonship itself is a perfect creation and perfection is not a matter of degree.

ただ、違いがあると信じるあいだは、学ぶことにも意義があるといえる。
Only while there is a belief in differences is learning meaningful.



進化とは進歩の過程であって、そこではある段階から次の段階へと進んでいるように思える。
Evolution is a process in which you seem to proceed from one degree to the next.

以前に踏み誤ったことを前向きに歩み続けて正すのである。
You correct your previous missteps by stepping forward.

時間の点から見ると、この過程は実に不可解だ。前進するごとに元へ戻っていることになるのだから。
This process is actually incomprehensible in temporal terms, because you return as you go forward.

贖罪（≒自我の「分離」という間違った思いこみを聖霊によって取り消すこと、それを進める聖霊の計画）がその手だてであって、あなたが先へ進むにしたがい、過ぎ去ったことから自分を自由な身にできるのである。
The Atonement is the device by which you can free yourself from the past as you go ahead.

それは過去の間違いをもとどおりにしてくれるので、あなたには、それまでのように復帰するために進歩するどころか、もと来た道をたどり直し続けるようなことをもうする必要がなくなる。
It undoes your past errors, thus making it unnecessary for you to keep retracing your steps without advancing to your return.

この意味において贖罪（≒自我の「分離」という間違った思いこみを聖霊によって取り消すこと、それを進める聖霊の計画）は時間を省くが、贖罪が奉仕しているその奇跡とおなじで、時間を完全になくすということはしない。
In this sense the Atonement saves time, but like the miracle it serves, does not abolish it.

贖罪が必要である限り、時間も必要だといえる。
As long as there is need for Atonement, there is need for time.

ただ、完了した計画としての贖罪は時間と独特の関係をもっている。
But the Atonement as a completed plan has a unique relationship to time.

贖罪が完了するまでは、そのさまざまな段階は時間のなかで進むが、完全な贖罪というものは時間の終りにある。
Until the Atonement is complete, its various phases will proceed in time, but the whole Atonement stands at time's end.

その時点で、復帰するための橋が造られたということになる。
At that point the bridge of return has been built.



贖罪（≒自我の「分離」という間違った思いこみを聖霊によって取り消すこと、それを進める聖霊の計画）はいわば誠心誠意したがうと決心すること。
The Atonement is a total commitment.

あなたはまだ、こうすることを敗北と結びつけて考えるかも知れないが、これは分離した神の子たちがみんなどうしても思い違いすることである。
You may still think this is associated with loss, a mistake all the separated Sons of God make in one way or another.

攻撃することが出来ない防衛こそが最善の防衛であるとは信じがたいかもしれない。
It is hard to believe a defense that cannot attack is the best defense.

「柔和な人は地をゆずりうけるであろう」との言葉が意味するのがこれである。
This is what is meant by "the meek shall inherit the earth. "

柔和な人たちは持前の力強さで、文字どおり地を引き継ぐことだろう。
They will literally take it over because of their strength.

二つの方向にむいて防衛することは本質的に弱いところがある、というのはまさに両刃をもっているからであって、きわめて不意に自分を不利な立場にしかねない。
A two-way defense is inherently weak precisely because it has two edges, and can be turned against you very unexpectedly.

この可能性を制御できるのは奇跡だけである。
This possibility cannot be controlled except by miracles.

奇跡（≒赦しによって単なる自我の投影を現実と錯覚していたのを取り消し、魂本来の見方で、『本当の現実を見る』ことに移行すること）が贖罪という防衛力であなたを本当に擁護するのであり、自分は安全だと確信を持てるようになるにつれて、あなたは自分がきょうだいであり御子でもあると分かってきて、他の人たちを擁護するという生まれながらの才能を自分のものとするだろう。
The miracle turns the defense of Atonement to your real protection, and as you become more and more secure you assume your natural talent of protecting others, knowing yourself as both a brother and a Son.
