9-2 祈りにたいする答え The Answer to Prayer

何かを頼もうと祈ったことのあるものはだれでもみな、その願いが聞き入れられなかったように思える経験をしたことがある。
Everyone who ever tried to use prayer to ask for something has experienced what appears to be failure.

これはただ害を及ぼしそうな特定のものごとに関してあてはまるばかりか、この奇跡のコースの教えにきちんと従った願い事などに関してもそうである。
This is not only true in connection with specific things that might be harmful, but also in connection with requests that are strictly in line with this course.

特に後者のほうは、このコースの教えは言っていることをそのまま意味していないという証明になると間違って解釈されるかもしれない。
The latter in particular might be incorrectly interpreted as 'proof' that the course does not mean what it says.

しかしながら、この教えが繰返しはっきりと言っているように、これが目的とするのは（自我の無意識の罪悪感による）恐れからの脱出だということを思い出さなければならない。
You must remember, however, that the course states, and repeatedly, that its purpose is the escape from fear.



では、仮にあなたが聖霊に頼むことは自分が本当に望むことだが、あなたはまだそれに恐れを抱いているとする。
Let us suppose, then, that what you ask of the Holy Spirit is what you really want, but you are still afraid of it.

こんな場合には、それを手に入れるということはもはや自分が望むことではなくなるだろう。
Should this be the case, your attainment of it would no longer be what you want.

だからある特定の形の癒しは達成されないことがある。たとえ癒しの状態は達成されているときでさえも。
This is why certain specific forms of healing are not achieved, even when the state of healing is.

ある人はからだに悪いことを恐れ、肉体的な癒しを願うかも知れない。
An individual may ask for physical healing because he is fearful of bodily harm.

それと同時に、もしその人が肉体的に癒されたとすれば、自分の思考体系にたいする脅威はそれの肉体的な現れよりも本人にとってかなり恐ろしいものかもしれない。
At the same time, if he were healed physically, the threat to his thought system might be considerably more fearful to him than its physical expression.

こんな場合、その人は本当に恐れから解放してほしいと頼んでいるのではなく、ただ自分自身で選んだ症状を取り除いてほしいと頼んでいる。
In this case he is not really asking for release from fear, but for the removal of a symptom that he himself selected.

したがってこの願いは全く癒しのためではない。
This request is, therefore, not for healing at all.



聖書は、祈りはすべてかなえられると強調するが、これは確かに真実である。
The Bible emphasises that all prayer is answered, and this is indeed true.

聖霊が何かを頼まれたというまさにその事実が聖霊の応答を保証する。
The very fact that the Holy Spirit has been asked for anything will ensure a response.

しかも同様に確かなことは、聖霊が与えてくれる答えはどれも決して恐れを増すようなものではないということだ。
Yet it is equally certain that no response given by Him will ever be one that would increase fear.

聖霊の答えを聞き入れられないということは有り得る。
It is possible that His answer will not be heard.

しかしながらそれが失われるということは不可能。
It is impossible, however, that it will be lost.

あなたがすでに受け取ってはいるが、まだ聞き入れてはいない答えは数多くある。
There are many answers you have already received but have not yet heard.

そうした答えがあなたを待っている、と私が請け合っておこう。
I assure you that they are waiting for you.



自分の祈りはかなえられると分かってほしいし、決して神の子を疑わないようにしてほしい。
If you would know your prayers are answered, never doubt a Son of God.

疑問をかかげたり困惑させたりしないように、あなたがその神の子を信頼するとは自分自身を信頼することであるから。
Do not question him and do not confound him, for your faith in him is your faith in yourself.

もしも神とその答えを分かろうとするなら、あなたに対して揺るがざる信頼をもつ、この私も信じてほしい。
If you would know God and His Answer, believe in me whose faith in you cannot be shaken.

心から聖霊に頼んでおいて、そのあと自分のきょうだいを疑ったりできるだろうか。
Can you ask of the Holy Spirit truly, and doubt your brother?

真理はそのきょうだいのうちにあるのだから、その人が言うことは真実だと信じてもいい。
Believe his words are true because of the truth that is in him.

あなたはその人のうちなる真理と結びつき、そのきょうだいの言葉は確かに真実となる。
You will unite with the truth in him, and his words will be true.

そのきょうだいの言うことを聞き入れるにつれ、あなたには私が聞こえるようになる。
As you hear him you will hear me.

真理に耳を傾けることは、今それを聞くことができるし、最終的にはそれが分かってくる唯一の方法といえる。
Listening to truth is the only way you can hear it now, and finally know it.




あなたのきょうだいからどんな伝言があるか、それはあなたしだいである。
The message your brother gives you is up to you.

あなたに何を言おうとしているのだろうか。
What does he say to you?

あなたは何を言ってもらいたいのだろうか。
What would you have him say?

そのきょうだいをどう見定めるかで、自分が受け取る伝言を決定することになる。
Your decision about him determines the message you receive.

聖霊はきょうだいのなかにおり、その御声がそのきょうだいを通じてあなたに話しかけるということを思いだしてほしい。
Remember that the Holy Spirit is in him, and His Voice speaks to you through him.

それほど神聖なきょうだいが、あなたに真理以外の何を言えるだろうか。
What can so holy a brother tell you except truth?

だが、あなたはそれに耳を傾けているだろうか。
But are you listening to it?

そのきょうだいは自分がだれか分かっていないかもしれないが、本人の心のなかにはそれをよく知っている光がある。
Your brother may not know who he is, but there is a light in his mind that does know.

この光はあなたの心のなかまで差し込んで、そのきょうだいの言葉に真理を与え、あなたがそれを聞くことができるようにする。
This light can shine into yours, giving truth to his words and making you able to hear them.

そうした言葉こそ、あなたにたいする聖霊の答え。
His words are the Holy Spirit's answer to you.

あなたはそのきょうだいを、自分に与えてくれる答えを聞く気にならずにはいられないほど、信頼しているだろうか。
Is your faith in him strong enough to let you hear?



あなたは自分自身だけのために喜びを見つけられないのと同じで、自分のためにだけ祈ることはできない。
You can no more pray for yourself alone than you can find joy for yourself alone.

祈りは、神の法則にしたがい聖霊の指示をうけて、いわばすべてを包括すると再びはっきり言葉にすること。
Prayer is the restatement of inclusion, directed by the Holy Spirit under the laws of God.

救いはあなたのきょうだいからくる。
Salvation is of your brother.

聖霊はあなたの心からそのきょうだいの心へと拡張し、そのうえであなたに答えてくれる。
The Holy Spirit extends from your mind to his, and answers you.

あなたは一人ではないので、神にかわって話す御声を自分のなかにのみ聞くことはできない。
You cannot hear the Voice for God in yourself alone, because you are not alone.

それに聖霊はただ、あなたは何なのかということに答えてくれるだけだ。
And His answer is only for what you are.

私があなたを信用しているということは、あなたが自分でその信用を拡張しないかぎり分からないだろう。
You will not know the trust I have in you unless you extend it.

聖霊の導きを他の者たちのなかに聞くようにならないかぎり、あなたはそれを信用せず、それがあなたのためだと信じることもないだろう。
You will not trust the guidance of the Holy Spirit, or believe that it is for you unless you hear it in others.

その導きはあなたのためなのだから、あなたのきょうだいのためでもあるに違いない。
It must be for your brother because it is for you.

神はその声をあなた一人のために創造しただろうか。
Would God have created a Voice for you alone?

神が御子たちみんなに答えられること、それ以外の答えをあなたが聞けるだろうか。
Could you hear His answer except as He answers all of God's Sons?

あなたが私に聞いてほしいことを自分のきょうだいから聞くといい。私が欺かれるのをあなたは望みはしないだろうから。
Hear of your brother what you would have me hear of you, for you would not want me to be deceived.



神がするのと同様に、私はあなたのうちに真理があるのであなたを愛する。
I love you for the truth in you, as God does.

自分で思い違いしていることがあなたをごまかせるかもしれないが、私をごまかすことはできない。
Your deceptions may deceive you, but they cannot deceive me.

あなたが何であるか分かっているので、私はあなたを疑うことはできない。
Knowing what you are, I cannot doubt you.

あなたのうちなる聖霊だけが聞こえるし、その聖霊はあなたを通して私に話してくれる。
I hear only the Holy Spirit in you, Who speaks to me through you.

もしも私のいうことを聞いてくれるのなら、私のきょうだいたちに聞いてほしい。そのきょうだい達のなかでこそ神の御声は話してくれる。
If you would hear me, hear my brothers in whom God's Voice speaks.

すべての祈りにたいする答はそのきょうだい達のなかにある。
The answer to all prayers lies in them.

一人ひとりのうちなる答を聞くにつれて、あなたの願いはかなえられるだろう。
You will be answered as you hear the answer in everyone.

他にはなにも耳を傾けないように、さもないとあなたが正しく聞くということはないだろう。
Do not listen to anything else or you will not hear truly.



私はあなたを信じるのだから、あなたも自分のきょうだいたちを信じてほしい。そうすれば私のあなたにたいする信念は正しいといえることが分かってくる。
Believe in your brothers because I believe in you, and you will learn that my belief in you is justified.

神がそのきょうだい達に与えられたもののために、その人たちを信じることで私を信じることだ。
Believe in me by believing in them, for the sake of what God gave them.

あなたがきょうだいたちから真理だけを求めるようになれば、当人たちもそれに答えてくれる。
They will answer you if you learn to ask only truth of them.

きょうだいたちを祝福せずに、自分が祝福されることを願わないように、ただこんな風にするうちに、いかに自分が祝福されているのか分ってくるのだから。
Do not ask for blessings without blessing them, for only in this way can you learn how blessed you are.

こうしたやり方に従うことで、あなたは自分のうちなる真理を捜し求めているのである。
By following this way you are seeking the truth in you.

自分自身に及ばないところへ行こうとするのではなく、自分自身に向かって進むことになる。
This is not going beyond yourself but toward yourself.

神の答えのみを御子たちのうちに聞けば、願いはかなえられる。
Hear only God's Answer in His Sons, and you are answered.



信じないということは反対するか攻撃するということ。
To disbelieve is to side against, or to attack.

信じるとは受け入れて賛成するということ。
To believe is to accept; and to side with.

信じるとは、ものごとを軽々しく信じてしまうということではなくて、受け入れて真価を認めるということ。
To believe is not to be credulous, but to accept and appreciate.

自分が信じていないものの真価を認めはしないし、価値が有ると思わないものを有り難がるはずもない。
What you do not believe you do not appreciate, and you cannot be grateful for what you do not value.

何かについて審けばそれには代償がある。審きを下すとは値踏みすることであるから。
There is a price you will pay for judgement, because judgement is the setting of a price.

そして自分が値をつけた通りに払うことになるのである。
And as you set it you will pay it.




もしもあなたが支払うのは手に入れるためと見るなら、値踏みは低くするが高い収益を要求するだろう。
If paying is equated with getting, you will set the price low but demand a high return.

しかしながら、値をつけるとは評価すること、だからその収益は自分の価値判断に比例するということを忘れてしまっている。
You will have forgotten, however, that to price is to value, so that your return is in proportion to your judgement of worth.

もしも支払いを与えることと結び付けて考えるなら、それを失うことだと見て取るはずがないし、与えることと受け取ることとの相互的なつながりを認められるようになる。
If paying is associated with giving it cannot be perceived as loss, and the reciprocal relationship of giving and receiving will be recognised.

その後は値段が高くつけられる、それから得るものには価値があるのだから。
The price will then be set high, because of the value of the return.

手に入れることの代償はものの価値を見失うことであり、必然的に自分の受け取るものを大切にしなくなる。
The price for getting is to lose sight of value, making it inevitable that you will not value what you receive.

それにはほとんど価値がないとみて、その真価を認めず、欲しいとも思わなくなってしまう。
Valuing it little, you will not appreciate it and you will not want it.



では自分が受け取るものの価値をきめるのはあなたであり、自分が与えるものでそれに値をつけるということも、決して忘れないように。
Never forget, then, that you set the value on what you receive, and price it by what you give.

わずかなものでおおくのものを得ることは可能だと信じるのは、神と駆け引きできると信じること。
To believe that it is possible to get much for little is to believe that you can bargain with God.

神の法則はつねに公正であり、完全に首尾一貫している。
God's laws are always fair and perfectly consistent.

与えることで自分が受け取ることになる。
By giving you receive.

しかし受け取るとは受容、つまり自分のものとすることで、ただ手に入れることではない。
But to receive is to accept, not to get.

持っていないということは有り得ないが、あなたが持っていると分かっていないということは有り得る。
It is impossible not to have, but it is possible not to know you have.

持っていると気づくと、それが与えたいという気持ちとなり、ただこの気持ちがあればこそ、自分が持っているものに気づくことができる。
The recognition of having is the willingness for giving, and only by this willingness can you recognise what you have.

したがってあなたが与えるものが、自分の持っているものにつける価値であり、それはつけた価値にきっちり釣り合うものだ。
What you give is therefore the value you put on what you have, being the exact measure of the value you put upon it.

そのうえこれで、自分がどれほどそれを望んでいるか見当がつく。
And this, in turn, is the measure of how much you want it.




そこであなたはただ聖霊に与えることによって、その聖霊に頼めるのであり、それもただ自分で聖霊を見分けられるところで、与えることができる。
You can ask of the Holy Spirit, then, only by giving to Him, and you can give to Him only where you recognise Him.

もしあなたが一人ひとりのうちに聖霊を認めるなら、どれほど聖霊に頼んでいることになるか、それにどれだけ受け取ることになるのか、よく考えてみるといい。
If you recognise Him in everyone, consider how much you will be asking of Him, and how much you will receive.

あなたは聖霊に何も拒んだりしていないので、聖霊もあなたに何一つ拒むことはない。だからあらゆるものを分かち合える。
He will deny you nothing because you have denied Him nothing, and so you can share everything.

これこそ聖霊の答えを得る方法。それも唯一の方法だ。あなたが頼むことができるし、望むのはその答えだけであるから。
This is the way, and the only way to have His answer, because His answer is all you can ask for and want.

では、みんなに次のように言うがよい。
Say, then, to everyone:


（真の）自分自身を知るつもりなので、あなたを神の子であり自分のきょうだいとして見ます。
Because I will to know myself, I see you as God's Son and my brother.
