7-8 信じ難き信念 The Unbelievable Belief

すでに述べたことだが、（自我が）投影することがなければ怒りは有り得ない。しかし拡張しなければ愛も有り得ないというのもまた真実である。
We have said that without projection there can be no anger, but it is also true that without extension there can be no love.

こうしたことは心の根本的な法則を反映しており、したがって常に作用している法則といえる。
These reflect a fundamental law of the mind, and therefore one that always operates.

その法則によってあなたは創造し、また創造された。
It is the law by which you create and were created.

これは神の国を統一し、それを神の御心のうちに保つ法則。
It is the law that unifies the Kingdom, and keeps it in the Mind of God.

自我にとっては、この法則は自分の望んでいないものを除くための手段だと見なされている。
To the ego, the law is perceived as a means of getting rid of something it does not want.

聖霊にとっては、分かち合うための根本的な法則であり、これによってあなたは自分が大切だと思うものを、自分の心に保っておくために、与えることになる。
To the Holy Spirit, it is the fundamental law of sharing, by which you give what you value in order to keep it in your mind.

聖霊にとっては、これが拡張の法則。
To the Holy Spirit it is the law of extension.

自我にとっては喪失の法則ともいえる。
To the ego it is the law of deprivation.

したがってそれは豊かさを生み出しもすれば、欠乏状態を生み出しもするわけで、自分がその法則をどのように適用することを選択するかで左右される。
It therefore produces abundance or scarcity, depending on how you choose to apply it.

この選択はあなた次第だが、その法則そのものを利用するかどうか、それを決めるのはあなた次第ではない。
This choice is up to you, but it is not up to you to decide whether or not you will utilize the law.

どの心も（自我に基づく）投影をするか拡張するかしなければならない。心はそのようにして生きるのだし、心はどれもみな生命であるから。
Every mind must project or extend, because that is how it lives, and every mind is life.




自我の投影の仕方を十分に理解する必要がある。そうしてはじめて（自我に基づいた）投影と怒りの必然的なつながりを最終的には取り消すことができる。
The ego's use of projection must be fully understood before the inevitable association between projection and anger can be finally undone.

自我はいつも心の葛藤を保存しようと企てる。
The ego always tries to preserve conflict.

きわめて巧妙にその葛藤が減っているようにみせかせる方法を工夫している。というのもあなたがその葛藤はあまりにもひどくて耐えきれないとわかり、それを放棄すると言い張るようになって欲しくないからだ。
It is very ingenious in devising ways that seem to diminish conflict, because it does not want you to find conflict so intolerable that you will insist on giving it up.

あなたが自我を放棄して自由になってはいけないので、自我は自分こそあなたを葛藤から自由にできるとあなたを説得しようとする。
The ego therefore tries to persuade you that it can free you of conflict, lest you give the ego up and free yourself.

自我は神の法則をもとに自我自体のゆがんだ異説を使って、心の力というものをただ心の本当の目的をくつがえすために利用しようとする。
Using its own warped version of the laws of God, the ego utilizes the power of the mind only to defeat the mind's real purpose.

葛藤をあなたの心から他の心へと投影するが、それはそんな問題を取り除くことができた、とあなたを説得しようとする試みだ。
It projects conflict from your mind to other minds, in an attempt to persuade you that you have gotten rid of the problem.




こんな試みには必然的に大きな間違いを二つ含んでいる。
There are two major errors involved in this attempt.

第一に、厳密に言えば葛藤を分かち合うことはできないので、それを投影することもできない。
First, strictly speaking, conflict cannot be projected because it cannot be shared.

一部を保っておいて他の部分を取り除こうと試みることは、どれも実際には何の意味もない。
Any attempt to keep part of it and get rid of another part does not really mean anything.

相入れない思いを抱く（この奇跡のコースの）教師は教師として不行き届きだし、（この奇跡のコースの）学習者として注意散漫だということを思いだしてほしい。
Remember that a conflicted teacher is a poor teacher and a poor learner.

その人は教えようとすることを混同しており、自分がまごついているのでその内容を移す価値は限られている。
His lessons are confused, and their transfer value is limited by his confusion.

二番目の間違いは自分が欲しくないものをだれかに与えれば、それを取り除けるという考え方。
The second error is the idea that you can get rid of something you do not want by giving it away.

与えるということは、逆にその何かを自分で保つ方法だ。
Giving it is how you keep it.

それを自分の外に見ることで内側からは締め出したものと信じるのは、拡張する力を完全にゆがめたことになる。
The belief that by seeing it outside you have excluded it from within is a complete distortion of the power of extension.

だから（自我の）投影する者たちは自分自身の身の安全のために警戒するわけだ。
That is why those who project are vigilant for their own safety.

自分の投影することが戻ってきて自分を傷つけるものと恐れている。
They are afraid that their projections will return and hurt them.

自分自身の心からはそんな投影したことを見えなくしたと信じるので、またそれが知らない間に入り込もうとしているとも信じる。
Believing they have blotted their projections from their own minds, they also believe their projections are trying to creep back in.

投影したことは自分の心を去ってなどいないのだから、これを気づかないようにするために、その人たちは絶えず何らかの活動に携わることを強いられる。
Since the projections have not left their minds, they are forced to engage in constant activity in order not to recognize this.




他のだれかについていつまでも錯覚しておいて、自分について錯覚していることを永続させないわけにはいかない。
You cannot perpetuate an illusion about another without perpetuating it about yourself.

これから抜け出す方法はない。心を分裂することは不可能であるから。
There is no way out of this, because it is impossible to fragment the mind.

分裂するとはばらばらにするということ。ところが心は攻撃したり、攻撃されたりすることはできない。
To fragment is to break into pieces, and mind cannot attack or be attacked.

それができると信じるのは、自我がいつも間違うことで、自我が投影することすべての基礎となる。
The belief that it can, an error the ego always makes, underlies its whole use of projection.

自我は心が何なのか理解していない。したがってあなたが何なのか、それも理解していない。
It does not understand what mind is, and therefore does not understand what you are.

それにもかかわらずそんな自我の存在はあなたの心に依存している。自我はあなたの信じていることであるから。
Yet its existence is dependent on your mind, because the ego is your belief.

自我は何と一体感を持つべきか当惑している。
The ego is a confusion in identification.

首尾一貫した模範をもったためしがなかったので、決して一貫性をともなう発達をしていない。
Never having had a consistent model, it never developed consistently.

それはゆがんだ心が自らの力を間違って使い、神の法則を間違って応用した結果である。
It is the product of the misapplication of the laws of God by distorted minds that are misusing their power.




自我を恐れることはない。
Do not be afraid of the ego.

そんな自我はあなたの心しだい、自分でそれを信じることで作ったのだから。自分がそれを信じるのをやめさえすれば、そんなものは払いのけることができる。
It depends on your mind, and as you made it by believing in it, so you can dispel it by withdrawing belief from it.

あなたが自我を信じているその責任を他のだれにも投影しないほうがいい。さもなければそんな信念を心に留めることになる。
Do not project the responsibility for your belief in it onto anyone else, or you will preserve the belief.

自我が存在する責任は自分だけにあると受け入れる気になるなら、怒りや攻撃をみな捨てさったことになる。そんな感情は自分自身の間違いの責任を投影しようとすることから生じるのだから。
When you are willing to accept sole responsibility for the ego's existence you will have laid aside all anger and all attack, because they come from an attempt to project responsibility for your own errors.

しかしそんな間違いを自分のものとして受け入れたあと、それをいつまでも持ち続けないほうがいい。
But having accepted the errors as yours, do not keep them.

そんなものはすぐに、聖霊に引き渡して完全に取り消してもらうことだ。そうすればそれの及ぼした影響は、あなたの心と御子としての身分にある全員から瞬く間になくなるであろう。
Give them over quickly to the Holy Spirit to be undone completely, so that all their effects will vanish from your mind and from the Sonship as a whole.




聖霊はあなたの（自我に基づいた）信念の範囲を越えて知覚するようにと教える。真理は信じることを越えたものであり、聖霊の知覚力は本物であるから。
The Holy Spirit will teach you to perceive beyond your belief, because truth is beyond belief and his perception is true.

自我はいつでも完全に忘れられる。なぜならそれは全く信用できない信念だし、信じ難いと判断したような信念を持ち続けるものはだれもいないからである。
The ego can be completely forgotten at any time, because it is a totally incredible belief, and no one can keep a belief he has judged to be unbelievable.

あなたに自我のことが分かれば分かるほど、それは信じられないものだと気づくことだろう。
The more you learn about the ego, the more you realize that it cannot be believed.

信用できないようなものは信じ難いので、理解できるはずがない。
The incredible cannot be understood because it is unbelievable.

信じ難いことに基づいて知覚したことには意義がないのは明白だが、信じるにおよばないものだとは認められないかも知れない。それも信念で作られているわけだから。
The meaninglessness of perception based on the unbelievable is apparent, but it may not be recognized as being beyond belief, because it is made by belief.




この奇跡のコースの教えの全目的は、『あなたに自我は信じ難いものであり、永久に信じ難いままになる』と教えること。
The whole purpose of this course is to teach you that the ego is unbelievable and will forever be unbelievable.

信じ難いことを信じて自我を作った者は、一人でこうした判断をすることができない。
You who made the ego by believing the unbelievable cannot make this judgment alone.

自分自身のために贖罪を受け入れることで、あなたは『自分が一人ぽっちになれるとは信じない』と決心しており、かくして分離しているという想念を追い払い、『神の国全体が文字どおり自分の大切な部分だ』とし、『それと自分は本当に一体である』と確かに認めることになる。
By accepting the Atonement for yourself, you are deciding against the belief that you can be alone, thus dispelling the idea of separation and affirming your true identification with the whole Kingdom as literally part of you.

このような一体感は疑いの無いものであると同時に信念の範囲を越えている。
This identification is as beyond doubt as it is beyond belief.

実在するものは無限であるから、あなたの完全なすがたは限りないものである。
Your wholeness has no limits because being is infinity.
